Roots 101 African American Museum Offers Free Admission to New Exhibit Featuring Authentic Ku Klux Klan Artifacts

LOUISVILLE, KY – April 20, 2023 - Roots 101 African American Museum is proud to announce a powerful new exhibit aimed at educating and raising awareness about the history of hate in our country.

The exhibit features authentic artifacts from the Ku Klux Klan, and will be open to the general public. Admission will be free on Sunday, April 30th from 2-4 pm at the museum located at 140 North First Street.

"We're excited to offer visitors the opportunity to see this one-of-a-kind exhibit," says Lamont Collins, Founder and CEO of Roots 101. "It includes a lifelike depiction of images most individuals have only seen on television or in movies. Our goal is to provide context while reinforcing the reality that hate still exists."

The exhibit items were loaned to Roots 101 by Marceia Cornwell, an auction enthusiast and avid collector whose mission is to shed light on the continued presence of the KKK in America.

Roots 101 African American Museum is a non-profit organization that seeks to promote understanding and appreciation of African American history and culture. The museum offers a variety of exhibits and educational programs, including guided tours, workshops, and lectures.

Families with school-age kids are welcome to join us for this thought-provoking exhibit. For more information about Roots 101 African American Museum and its exhibits, please visit the website at www.roots-101.org.
