Roots 101 African American Museum to Host Preview of National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.

Louisville, KY - Roots 101 African American Museum is excited to announce that it will host a preview event for the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. on Wednesday, April 12 at 9am. The event is being organized by Louisville Tourism and the agency's Black Tourism Advisory Council (BTAC), and will feature speakers from the tourism industry and government, as well as Dr. Jerry Young, the National President of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.

Approximately 9,000 attendees are expected to come to Louisville this June for the convention, which is part of Louisville Tourism's strategy to grow visitation from 19M visitors in 2019 to 25M by 2030, including increasing the percentage of Black travelers to reflect more of the city's population.

"We're thrilled to be hosting this preview event for the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.," said Lamont Collins, the founder of Roots 101 African American Museum. "It's an honor to be part of Louisville's efforts to promote diversity and bring more visitors to the city."

The event will take place at Roots 101 African American Museum, located at 124 N 1st Street in Louisville. Louisville Tourism President & CEO Cleo Battle, Kentucky Secretary of Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet Lindy Casebier, and Louisville Deputy Mayor Barbara Sexton Smith will also be speaking at the event.
